1. Who is responsible for your information
GutterCrew is responsible for the personal information used to operate the website and arrange introductions to approved service providers.
The selected provider will normally be separately responsible for the information it receives to prepare a quotation, contact you and perform the work. You should ask the provider about its own privacy information where needed.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- your name, mobile number and optional email address;
- the property address, postcode and property type;
- your selected services and details you provide about the gutters, exterior surfaces, access and requested work;
- messages, quote and booking information, the selected provider and complaint records;
- basic technical, security and server-log information, such as IP address, browser type, dates and requested pages; and
- limited Google Ads measurement information, with optional advertising or analytics storage used only where you have consented.
Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information in the additional-details box.
3. How and why we use it
We use information to:
- respond to quote requests and identify a suitable provider;
- share the necessary details with the selected provider;
- manage communications and maintain booking and complaint records;
- operate, protect and improve the website;
- prevent misuse and establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
- meet legal and regulatory obligations.
Our lawful bases will usually be taking steps at your request to provide the arrangement service, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting GutterCrew and keeping appropriate records, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where required for optional Google Ads measurement storage and related advertising-data use.
We do not use your quote details for marketing.
4. Who receives your information
We share quote details only with the selected provider and only where reasonably needed to prepare the quotation, contact you or carry out the requested service.
We may also use website-hosting, email and IT suppliers, professional advisers and authorities or regulators where disclosure is required. Suppliers acting for us may only use information for the agreed service and must protect it appropriately.
We do not sell personal information.
5. International transfers
Some technology suppliers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we will use an adequacy regulation or other safeguards recognised under UK data-protection law, as appropriate.
6. How long we keep it
Unsuccessful quote enquiries are normally kept for up to 12 months. Records relating to completed bookings, complaints or legal matters may be kept for up to 6 years.
We may keep information for a shorter or longer period where reasonably necessary—for example, to resolve an active complaint or comply with law—and we delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.
7. Email and security
Quote submissions will initially be delivered to a GutterCrew email inbox. We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect information, but no internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Cookies and Google Ads measurement
Cookies and similar technologies are small files or identifiers used by websites. Strictly necessary first-party storage may be used for security, network operation and remembering your privacy choice.
We use the Google tag for Google Ads measurement. Its purpose is to help us understand how people use the website and whether visits from our advertising lead to an enquiry.
The Google tag loads with Google Consent Mode v2 set to denied for advertising storage, analytics storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation. Optional Google measurement technologies are activated only after you select Accept. While consent remains denied, the Google tag may send limited cookieless measurement signals.
You can select Accept or Reject in the cookie banner. Accept updates the four consent signals to granted; Reject leaves them denied. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer, and refusing optional measurement will not prevent you from using the website.
Depending on your choice and how you reached the site, technical information about your browser, device and website activity, and information about your interaction with an advertisement, may be sent to Google. Read more about how Google handles information from businesses and their sites in Google’s Business Data Responsibility information.
Your choice is stored in your browser’s first-party local storage so it can be applied on later visits.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- ask for access to your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase or restrict information;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.
These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal conditions. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
11. Children
GutterCrew’s quote service is intended for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this notice when our service, suppliers or the law changes. The latest version will appear on this page.
